We are excited to announce that we have a new addition to the Ubuntu Life Foundation staff - Dr. Peris Wako.
Dr. Peris will be replacing Dr. Joy, who is leaving Ubuntu to further her studies in pediatrics. Dr. Joy has spent the last two years with Ubuntu and has been a large part in helping us better serve our patients. During her time with us, she ran three medical camps yearly, where she routinely saw over 200 patients. She always put her patient's needs first, including clinic visits to the patient's homes. These in-home visits helped ease the burden of travel on parents and made them feel like part of our family. Dr. Joy has given us a great platform to build off of, and we cannot wait to see the future impact our medical team has here in the community and as a whole. Dr. Joy will be greatly missed, and we wish her the best in her next endeavor.
Thank you for all of your hard work, Dr. Joy!
With Dr. Joy's departure, we have hired a new Doctor, Dr. Peris Wako. Dr. Peris holds a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from Egerton University. She is from Laikipia County, and before joining Ubuntu Life Foundation, she worked as a medical officer at Aga Khan Hospital and Ndonyo Healthcare. Dr. Peris looks forward to working at Ubuntu, helping the children, and growing her profession. We are excited to have her here, and we can't wait to see the amazing things she will do in the lives of the kids and families who come to our clinic.
"I am inspired to work at Ubuntu because my life's vision and ambition has been to use my knowledge and skills to benefit the vulnerable persons in society."
- Dr. Peris
Welcome, Dr. Peris!
